Pregnant Woman (9th month)

Interim measures granted

Authorities have not followed the order of the Court

Living conditions at the time of the application

The applicant and her husband sleep in a used tent they bought themselves. They didn’t receive anything from the RIC. At night it gets so cold she cannot sleep. One night it was so cold the baby stopped moving. The sleeping place is infested by bed bugs. The applicant has repeatedly fallen down on the way to the toilets because it is so slippery. She cannot wait in line for long, so she has stopped showering. Due to the limited access to potable water and the unsanitary conditions of the toilets, the applicant has reduced her water consumption to only 0.7 litres per day.

The Court ordered to provide the applicant with accommodation and healthcare that are compatible with her particular status.

Outcome

Greek Authorities have not followed the order of the Court. The applicant was transferred to a container. Only one top bunk bed was provided so they moved back to the jungle. She gave birth in the hospital and was sent back to the jungle afterwards. The Court issued a new interim measure. The Government claimed that the applicant got an open card and is supposed to be transferred. We lost contact with the applicant.
